On August 29, Major League Eaters gathered at the 19th Annual Best in the West Nugget Rib Cook-Off in Sparks, NV for the 2nd Annual World Rib Eating Championship. Joey Chestnut retained his title, but the real hero of this event was Rich LeFevre. The Locust broke his left front tooth in the course of the contest, but kept on eating to come in a victorious third place. The remnants of the tooth are thought to have been swallowed.
