Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest

Location: Allentown, PA
Date: 05-17-2009
Winner: "Humble Bob" Shoudt

Bob Shoudt, the vegetarian from Royersford, PA, won the Pennsylvania Nathan's Famous qualifier by downing 38 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes. Russ Keeler placed second with 19.9, and in third was Wing Kong with 19.8. Steakbellie placed fourth with 17.

The event, which took place at Center Stage of Dorney Park, the incredibly clean and well-maintained 125-year-old amusement park in Allentown, PA, attracted a sizable crowd. The temperature hovered at just under 60 degrees, perfect eating weather. Humble Bob's win was never in question despite the effects of a brutal weekend of eating-related travel. He will grace the Coney Island stage once again.
