Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest

Sonya Thomas fulfilled her dedication of the Norfolk qualifier to Carson "Collard Green" Hughes the only way she knew how: she won. In an emotional contest that featured the Tracey (wife) and Carson Jr. ( of the late "Collard Green" as honorary attendees (Carson Jr. competed), Thomas ate 36 hdb's and will represent her home state at Coney Island on the 4th.

Big Joe Tursi came in second place w/16 and a 3rd hdb's. Jay Gormand a close third w/16 and Will Schmeirer took down 15.5 hdb's for fourth place.
