Patrick Bertoletti won the GoldenPalace.net World Ice Cream Eating Contest by consuming 1.75 gallons of ice cream in eight minutes.

Crazy Legs Conti, who has demonstrated remarkable strength lately, placed second with 1.5 gallons and Eater X, Tim Janus, placed third with 1.25 gallons.

The event took place at Manhattan's The Water Club, an elegant waterside restaurant that features the world's finest ice cream from the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory. The ice cream for the GoldenPalace.net match was vanilla.

Inexplicably, Eater X used the occasion to present a science project called History's Modern Ice Age: ice cream through the ages.
